SCM ALERT🚨Dec 06 : 12:03amHAPPY BIRTHDAY! SCM ALERT🚨 Have a great day from all of us at SCM!
shovelheadkevinDec 05 : 10:45pmrockbadger....so glad to see that you're once again rejoined to modern life. I tip my hat to you sir. I've been without power, etc for 3 days due to tornado and 4 days due to ice storm. 8 days??? You and yours truly deserve merit badges for winter survival. Curious...are you now thinking about maybe getting at least a small generator for what the rest of winter may offer?
SCM ALERT🚨Dec 05 : 08:57pmCrazy story Badger.... I can only imagine how tough that long of a power outage can be. Glad that things are looking up.
rockbadgerDec 05 : 06:39pmThank you to all of you for your encouraging words throughout these past eight days. They’ve really been appreciated
rockbadgerDec 05 : 06:38pm@ButlerPeakFire, Just saw your offer. Thank you. The short version of today was flagging down 2 dif SCE crews on the street. Both denied knowing anything about lack of power to this area. All the crews have been amazing. But today one man on the second one was determined to prove we did have pwr so he insisted on demonstrating that by showing me the meter on the house. But when he looked at it he seemed shocked and said “you have no power.“ very short version is had SCE paid attention to our report seven days ago they would have found that the transformer across the street had blown. Not storm related & could have easily been fixed and prevented all of this... as it was finally this afternoon.
cricketDec 05 : 05:18pmScrambled, Nationwide is writing in the Big Bear area. They will do a home and property inspection.
Airport RazzDec 05 : 04:01pmSeems J-in Box and Village Mall neglected to do snow removal from the flat roofs.
MartyDec 05 : 03:50pmDon't get too excited about the insurance moratorium. As Hugereilly pointed out it does NOT apply to Big Bear or surrounding areas.

MartyDec 05 : 02:28pmLooks like Jack In The Box got red tagged. Seems they have problems with their roof.
ScrambledDec 05 : 02:27pmCalled John Murphy's office a couple weeks back, since my HO insurance was also canceled again. Third time in 6 years. They said that they could get me insurance, emailed the policy over. A week later i called to confirm that i wanted to go ahead with the policy and was told sorry the insurer pulled it and that they would not be able to help me. My home is in Sugarloaf, btw. Still looking
wisteria1Dec 05 : 02:16pmThe SCE outage maps are great (although as of Sunday they just had a big blue box running from Running Springs to the 15 freeway, the devastation was so complete). And you can hazard a guess how many times the customer service reps suggested I check sce.com - which I would have been happy to do IF I had the electricity to run the computer or internet. HUGE praise to the SCE staff though for the monumental task they did getting things back at all under such outrageous conditions. I've never seen so many fallen trees. After the plows came through Monday the 138 looked like one giant berm with a Christmas tree lot on top of it. God bless all those who were out working in that mess!
