A fellow scout (explorer actually), farm boy and experienced wood cutter, did major damage to his lower leg due to axe bounce. We were in Yosemite, and he had wood detail to keep us greenhorns safe. Needless to say, his axe was super sharp. Lesson learned.
bullet Sun Diego on Monday 28 April 2014 - 09:04:10
I like the nice can he is chopping in.
bullet Cornbread on Monday 28 April 2014 - 08:59:24
I was wondering about the axe head pivoting. That looked a little scary. You normally don't ever want that to happen. But I guess with this axe and that design, its all good.
bullet Lumbe® Jill on Monday 28 April 2014 - 08:51:58
I think the axe head pivoting is part if its effectiveness. I wonder if that wears on your arms though
bullet Craig (KJ6BCM) on Monday 28 April 2014 - 08:24:42
Very impressive video of that new Axe BC.
bullet bc on Monday 28 April 2014 - 08:23:34
So, not a hoax, hopefully. Glad I'm not alone thinking the tire trick is very cool. My lingering question is wood type/quality. Also, I noticed a lot of axe head turn ... so extra careful.
bullet Lumbe® Jill on Monday 28 April 2014 - 08:19:15
I watched that video a couple of days ago...impressive! The tire is an awesome trick too!

My nephew owns a tour company on the Big Island called Mauka Makai Adventures. Mountains to the sea. They are having a ball in the snow. My sister walks out her front door and can see Mauna Kea.
