Good morning! Does anyone know if any of the remote shooting areas beyond Fawnskin are open?
bullet Jellylorum on Saturday 22 March 2014 - 07:43:43
Being out in Baldwin, I do dump runs regularly. That usually includes several truckloads of brush each year, if the chipper truck can't come by.
bullet Jellylorum on Saturday 22 March 2014 - 07:39:34
Rod - most disposal companies allows customers to call in a couple times per year to request extra pickups. That is for big items like refrigerators, or big loads like lots of pine needles.

Does the company that serve Big Bear Lake do that?
bullet Rod the Photog on Saturday 22 March 2014 - 07:28:40
Jelly... Big Bear City gets the cards, Big Bear Lake doesn't. I pulled into the way station a couple of years ago and they said id was a free day, so it does happen sometimes.....

Hey Brown Bear! Yes, they did rescind that earthquake as a computer glitch. I heard from Twitter that it actually happened somewhere in Baja.
bullet BrownBear on Friday 21 March 2014 - 20:40:14
Btw I think that Mojave 5.2 earthquake was a mistake on usgs site earlier. It isn't on the map or list now

Hello BB.
bullet Jellylorum on Friday 21 March 2014 - 19:23:54
Once a year, there is a free electronic equipment drop off day for residents of unincorporated. It is at the CSD yard. Not sure when.

Hazardous waste drop off is most Saturdays. That is at the yard behind Bear Valley Electric.
bullet Jellylorum on Friday 21 March 2014 - 19:19:52
Rod -
The transfer station doesn't have free dump days.

However, many if not all, home owners in Big Bear have a dump card issued to you, that allows four loads a month to be dropped off, plus 4 extra loads per year at any time.

If you rent, ask your landlord if you can borrow their card.

juice means what robk and thanks for the advice
bullet robk (K6RBK) on Friday 21 March 2014 - 15:42:49
A damp paper towel or very soft cloth should remove the bubble marks. Getting those protectors on is a bit of a job; don't be afraid to use a lot of the "juice" which will let you align the protector more easily once it's placed on the screen; don't let it get into any openings in the device though. Once you get it on there. There will still be small bubbles no matter what, but they'll fade once the juice dries up in a day or two
