bullet Craig (KJ6BCM) on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 15:06:15
Must be nerve racking Camping Mom! Even up here in Big Bear I wasn't sure where it was going as it did build for a few seconds. I had a couple seconds to consider where to go if it got bigger. Under the computer table was my plan
bullet campingmom on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 15:03:45
I'm about 12 miles from epicenter and todays shook pretty good but last nights really did and banged things around in the house.
bullet NShore.Allen on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 14:55:42
I think anything in the general area and lower magnitude would be considered an aftershock. This was just confirmed by Dr. Jones.

Different than the Big Bear sequence many years ago where there were two distinct quakes.
bullet ***SCM ALERT*** on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 14:55:25
NSA, how did that one feel for you being so close to these quakes?
bullet ***SCM ALERT*** on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 14:54:57
The 4.1 that took place around 2:30pm most certainly looks like an aftershock of yesterdays 5.1
bullet Rain on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 14:53:48
i am not sure campingmom , i have not heard either way yet

bullet Benny (N6BWX) on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 09:32:30
I don't think any poles came down, maybe just a few lines, but it does make you wonder....
bullet BootsNBridles on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 09:12:02
Wow. That little quake knocked power poles down? folks in LA areas should be pushing their utilities to get ready then because there WILL be a much bigger one. There always is.
bullet Rain on Saturday 29 March 2014 - 09:09:24
thanks NSAllen- mya is on my bed didnt feel a thing.. folks should have their power resttored by 11am in la habra per scanner just a bit ago.. untiltiy workers worked thru the nite to get edision poles back up.. line after line went down last nite.. and they had over 100 calls for help that they needed to check , i dropped off scanner about midnite when that call came thru..

When I was younger, I always enjoyed stripping when I was in my groove.

The 38 is being stripped in a groove...they cut a groove in the pavement and lay the paint in the groove. The snowplows shouldn't destroy these stripe!

It's sort of funny the road alert for the closure on hwy 18 states "motorists are advised to use an alternate route". I'd replace advised with required unless they are considering those who may sit and wait.

Van, if you really want to see government efficiency, wait until you see them striping the main road just before it snows. And generally on a holiday Friday on top of it.

Lots of delays on 38 during the day. I just drove the back way via Lucerne Valley and there was even construction that way, though its very brief compared to 38. Is there anywhere there is no construction going on? I know its the slow season but seems like they shouldn't work on all 3 ways to the valley at once

how is the drive up 38? Saw the Road Alert and know of the construction. I also know 18 is closed during the day.. need to come up tomorrow around 10am
