Does anyone remember the Bartlett Brothers? There was something that I remembered about a plague in honor of King Bartlett. It was in Bartlett Parking lot. Was there a Bartlett's Camp on Pine Knott Blvd.?

sorry I didn't see your thread untill now The bartletts bought Indian lodge from B.G. Holmes but their "camp' was what later became paramont lodge. and now the bartlet parking lot. They also built cedar lake. They were long gone before I came along. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

thank you for the info on the Bartlett Brothers. I didn't remember the old Paramount Lodge.
Linda
I remember in the fall a couple of women’s frat house’s from UCLA used to come up and stay at the old Paramount Lodge and take the place over for the week. God I love remembering things about history and how great it was back then. This country needs thousands of unemployed politicians. If Obama is the answer how stupid was the question?

They did the same thing at Bluebird lodge. Winter the mountain was packed with kids from college great sweaters was my best memory. Did their party thing in their cabins and were great for the economy. Sort of like sprig break but with a lot more class I can remember being in the paramont lodge "big building" at the same time as John Wayne was but he wasn't hanging around the hall like I had hoped
the big building is on the left edge of this picture. It was a pretty nice place at one time

These pictures are great. My cousin Red Barrows lived in Big Bear for many years. His middle name ,King was taken from King Bartlett. Does anyone know which brother this would of been. There was a plague in Barlett's parking lot dedicated to King Bartlett

Did anyone know of Howard Barrows? He was my uncle. He married my mothers sister Dorothy Gorman. Howard did resufacing of the bowling alley on Pine Knot. One year there was a big explosion in the bowling ally and one man was killed. Howard was burnt but was okay. Something set off the shilack. (Spelling)

I remember the fire. I think the area was not ventalated and caught a spark. I had a friend who was a fireman at the time and said the man ran clear to Chads before he fell and died. That kind of ruined the bowling alley. I'm not sure if it even re opened. That was a great place in it's time
can't help you on the bartlet bros. And I think that is a different barrows then the ones I have known forever. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
