I realize that this isn't BB history, but does anyone remember Igo's in Mt. Home Village on the 38. My friends live there and are trying to put together a history of the place. The toll booth for the road to BB used to be behind it.

heyjude Did a little digging and came up with some information for you. If You go to the library or buy a copy of John Robinsons "the san Bernardino's He has a lot on the area. His stuff is pretty good usually so it would be a place to start. My scanner is down so I can't send you the map. The 1928 map seems wrong to me but the only building shown is on the North side of the Old highway to the right of the "old road" and it say's Igo's mill creek center. I believe this is the building that is a store today. And it shows a campground across the highway where the town is. Not further down where the campground is now. Remember the road used to go through the town along the path that offramp is now. The road is still there going up the canyon. but I am not sure if you can get through it anymore I know there was a gate about half way to camp Angeles years ago
I hope this is some help. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

BG one of my last trips up the hill we went down and had lunch there. The place hasn't changed since it was built a very nice place full of history Those going apple picking might enjoy it there and a trip up or down the river road. If they have time and a good 4WD come back up either Clark's grade, or the Radford truck trail. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
