Is the dam construction affecting traffic? Going UTH on Friday the 2nd and wondering which way is better this year....

Depending on when, there has been some delays at the Dam due to construction. I prefer hwy 38 over the 330/18 anyway so not an impact to me. I use the back way (Hwy 18 via Lucerne) a lot as my folks live in Palm Springs.

I have usually used the 330/18 and on occasion used 38 (nice easy drive)
However I have never used the 15 (coming from SD) to ? Bear Valley Rd to 18 the back way......does that add a lot of time verus 38? Curves don't bother me but traffic kills me... Thanks for all the input....

I use 15 to Bear Valley to 18 when I bring up the boat. It adds about a half hour to the drive. Easy driving though.

330/18. I'm on the west side so the extra time taking the other routes is just not really worth it unless there is an accident or construction.

Y'know, Nietzsche says: "Out of chaos comes order."

I prefer 18 to Victimville as well. Cement plane? I bet it has rocky landings and take offs.

It is months -not weeks:
Matich Corporation begins an 18-month road construction project Wednesday, Sept. 9, that stretches from Talmadge Road in Big Bear Lake to Crestline.

The projects includes grinding and asphalt overlay. Work takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday though Friday. One-way traffic control will be in effect and delays are expected. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to and from the mountains, and to use North Shore Drive if it's necessary to use Highway 18 to Highway 330.

More babies, more food stamps, more Nobama care. If I added Kim to my health insurance now it would cost me $1,100 dollars a month. Two years ago it was $600. Good bye Nobama soon and we need to do everything we can to get Hilary unelected.

They infiltrate all portions of our lives. They are like secret agents who have a goal to make your life dangerous and uncomfortable. Damn them. As sure as the sun rises in the east, as one mercifully dies, two more will be born to propagate the species.

Well, if we can't keep the AOI members off the streets, maybe they should only be able to drive Bumper Cars, like what you see at carnivals.
