Is the dam construction affecting traffic? Going UTH on Friday the 2nd and wondering which way is better this year....

Depending on when, there has been some delays at the Dam due to construction. I prefer hwy 38 over the 330/18 anyway so not an impact to me. I use the back way (Hwy 18 via Lucerne) a lot as my folks live in Palm Springs.

Summer where have you been?

I have usually used the 330/18 and on occasion used 38 (nice easy drive)
However I have never used the 15 (coming from SD) to ? Bear Valley Rd to 18 the back way......does that add a lot of time verus 38? Curves don't bother me but traffic kills me... Thanks for all the input....

I use 15 to Bear Valley to 18 when I bring up the boat. It adds about a half hour to the drive. Easy driving though.

330/18. I'm on the west side so the extra time taking the other routes is just not really worth it unless there is an accident or construction.

Y'know, Nietzsche says: "Out of chaos comes order."

I prefer 18 to Victimville as well. Cement plane? I bet it has rocky landings and take offs.

Was heading west on South Dr or took Baldwin North. Lost track when I got binoculars and phone, at least the sun is out.
We had a 59.3 mph gust late last night night, just under an inch of snow. Hard to tell between drifts and wind.

I can only imagine how spooky it would sound at night, with the rocks tumbling into the fresh water.

On the way to the lake there is a rocket skin with NASA painted on it. Prob. from a movie scene. I think one of the state's brown trout records came fom there.

The res. itself is about a qurter mile back from parking. It is a large res. with mostly 50 degree incline of rocks heading to the water. While there, the wind blows rocks into the water.

Pleasant valley res. is one of the premier fisheries in Ca. Fished it many times with close friends. I say close because you have to rely on one another.
