Since it looks like an area that recently burned, I'd say near 330 or Butler.

I was initially gonna guess 3N14, but since B-math guessed it first, I'll make my guess: 3N16 a couple miles east of Big Pine Flat.

As for Friday - check your e-mail, or PM.

Care to go back to the original guess

No fooling you, dead on 3N16 even got the mileage right. One day cameraman, one day.

There are still a couple patches of snow up there! You could ski it (for maybe 30 feet!) but you better do it this week, or wait till next winter!

"Freaks on the peaks" I resemble that remark!

Here's another article about the same lookout, complete with a photo of their grizzly deterrent on the door: [Click Here]

Always read EVERY LINE OF EVERY CONTRACT, they will push you to just sign, if you get one of those, tell them you're going to have your attorney look it over before signing...
Watch em squirm over that..

I guess my point is if you are a homeowner you need to be aware of what your insurance covers in case of a catastrophic event. It is part of the responsibility of home ownership.

Unless you go down to bare bones on a homeowner policy, it will cover basic accommodations. Same with the replacement costs. The state of California requires that the insurance companies advise the insureds about levels of replacement.

Debbie D- thats not necessarily true. Many policies require an additional rider to pay for lodging during reconstruction. Another problem some will face is lots of policies do not include replacement cost- that's another rider. Too bad they can't get Fed Aid- I wonder why not?

If these folks lost their homes, their homeowners insurance should be providing them with accommodations.

captmike a lot of monetary donations have been made. Just wondering if their basic needs are being met with these funds, they really need shelter

Posted an article about fire lookout in Montana. Pretty cool. They even mention the Blue Cut Fire.

Just saw a news story about victims of the Blue Cut fire, the ones that lost their homes. They show a lady living in a tent with her kids, and another man living in the back of a big rig type truck. I am sure there are more living this way. I read that this fire does not qualify for Federal Aid, so what do these people do? I know many did not have special fire insurance. Also, so many funds raised for these people. a local bank donating $50,000. Why don't they have shelter? I will be freezing here soon...
