The cleanup work has been completed and it is my understanding that as of 7:00 this morning, Matich Corporation has begun the process of filling in the area where the contaminated soil was removed. SCM member Oden uploaded this photo to his Facebook page a while ago:

It's hard for me to tell for sure but it appears to me it is in that off camber turn.
If so I sure hope they fix the corner while they are there. It is one of the most dngerous corners on the road
Glad it looks like they got a handle on it quickly

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

It's the turnout where Forsee Creek goes under the highway, about a half-mile east of the entrance to Camp Cedar Falls. I marked it as "A" on the map below.

Progress photo from Oden's Facebook page, taken this afternoon, which looks to me like it was taken from the same spot as the previous picture:

SCM would like to especially thank our member Oden and his crew for all the hard work and long hours put in over the weekend to get the highway reopened!

Was there ever a "cause" of this tanker overturning? Has it been made public? I could not find the cause from my sources. If in fact it is the tanker company's fault, I really am considering mailing them an invoice for the extra time and money spent while having to travel up and down the 330.

If it was not Oden and company fixing this mess, we would still have 38 closed. Great job!

Just overheard my 7 year old grandson singing "The Grand Old Flag". "Should all the planktons be forgot, keep your eye on the Grand Old Flag". How cute is that?

Also - watch your step. It is baby rattler season. Where there is one, there are probably 10-20 more. Saw a one-button baby - very pretty - that came from the north end of Mt. Doble/Gold Mountain.

There have been at least one cougar in the far reaches of Baldwin Lake and Lake William for several years.

I believe this young one is trying to find his own territory, away from the old one.
