Is Snow Valley thinking of doing this Cammy? Is the Nordic area part of Snow Valley's permit area? Just curious.

That’s awesome! Snow biking is an absolute blast. Biking in fresh powder like skiing is the best, of course over 4-5 inches is rough. Been up 2N93 a number of times in 6” of snow and it is a fun grind. Groomed Nordic trails would be fast and well could be a problem with some bikers and cross country skiers, but what makes winter different than summer on the trails? Folks just need to get along no matter their mode of transportation.

Agree. I do think that if there is the acreage to do it, there should be dedicated trails for each venue. I think if there is space for that, it would be great. Most European areas have separate areas for "speed" or track skiing or real outdoor "cross country skiing" It's a good model. A bicycle will always be faster, and chew up the trail a bit for the more leisurely sport, so why not have trails where each can enjoy their sport?

For the more “leisurely sport”? I suggest that you try to bike up 2N93 with 6” of snow on that road before you make that assumption..
There is room on any trail or fireroad given the thought that there are others out there to enjoy themselves in the great outdoors also.

Well, I could not "bike up 2N93 with 6" of snow" any more.

I used to be able to run up that in snowshoes. I am not all able to do that now, but many of us are able to do some things, and would like to get out there, but our choices are more and more limited. I would just like to see folks understand that. All of us will be there some day...it might be nice to not be robbed of the ability to go out there out of fear of the folks that are not as considerate as you. You are a good guy, not all that share the trails are that way. I would seriously ask for everyone to understand this, as getting older is something that you will all be faced with.... Shalom

That's awesome. It would be great to have that here.

There was a guy riding a fatty over the summer. I wonder if he's taken it out in the snow yet.

No & No.
I understand Snow Valley used to have cross country skiing, many years ago, between the resort and Keller Peak, but that hasn't happened in a long time and I doubt it would happen again in the future.

I know they searched the PCT pretty thoroughly and repeatedly in both directions. As Craig and Ben can tell you that is some very rough country with much thick brush and many stands of low trees. You could walk within 10 feet of something or someone laying under a bush and never see it no matter how hard you were looking. So sad for her family- although there is no confirmation of identity yet.
