This afternoon, I was walking out my front door when I noticed my cat intently looking outside. I walked outside and noticed that my cat was looking at a coyote in the street! Now, we had seen coyote tracks in our driveway after the snow last night, but this was at about 4:45 this afternoon - still daytime! The coyote saw me and ran down the street. When I looked where it was going, I saw 2 more coyotes in the street! Then I noticed a 4th coyote in the neighbor's yard! We've seen 3 coyotes together in the evening a few times, but never 4 together! I watched for a while then the 3 coyotes in the street dissappeared from my view. I looked and the 4th one was still in the neighbor's yard as if it were the guard coyote or spotter. I wondered if it was waiting to catch a ground squirrel maybe. After watching it a bit longer, I realized that I should be getting my camera (because it really isn't attached to me at ALL times). These pictures are all of the 4th coyote, I never did see the other 3 while I had my camera out.

I swear you guys talk in your own private language some times!

As for the 3 coyotes...I believe they're siblings from last year. We've seen them hanging around together for 9 months or so. The fourth one...I'm speculating that it's a female "picking her mate" It's about that time of year.

What doesn't kill me does NOT make me stronger. It makes me anxious, bitchy, and vulnerable...but nobody wants to see that embroidered on a pillow...Lisa Kogan...thx LXL...sorry i stole it from you! Ok, maybe I'm not sorry :-P
