That's one of those "lets hope we never have to do it" trainings that's fun to participate in!

Cammy, in my case it would be one of those "How in the hell did they get me up here" kind of things

How do they get the evac rope and chair over the cable in the first place? That wasn't a very tall (long?) evac, but obviously sometimes they are.

What doesn't kill me does NOT make me stronger. It makes me anxious, bitchy, and vulnerable...but nobody wants to see that embroidered on a pillow...Lisa Kogan...thx LXL...sorry i stole it from you! Ok, maybe I'm not sorry :-P

Life isn't like a box of chocolates. It's more like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow...Larry the Cable Guy

R they use a p cord gun to shoot a pull line (P cord) to hall the rope then pull over a AFD on the cable to keep the rope clean an give it a smooth pull. It is a real safe way to do this job.

Just overheard my 7 year old grandson singing "The Grand Old Flag". "Should all the planktons be forgot, keep your eye on the Grand Old Flag". How cute is that?

Also - watch your step. It is baby rattler season. Where there is one, there are probably 10-20 more. Saw a one-button baby - very pretty - that came from the north end of Mt. Doble/Gold Mountain.

There have been at least one cougar in the far reaches of Baldwin Lake and Lake William for several years.

I believe this young one is trying to find his own territory, away from the old one.

Careful folks- if it was spotted in Shay the normal daily range will take it all the way into Erwin Lake and possibly even Lake Williams.

Actually, I believe it is 4.5 feet LONG. It is believed to be a young cat. Perhaps it was pushed out of the territory of a larger/older cat?

Jerry B is having trouble logging in. He asked me to tell everyone: "A little heads up for the people out in the Shay Meadows area, a mountain lion was in a backyard of a house in the 1300 block on East Big Bear Blvd. close to Shay Rd fork on 5/17 Friday morning. The cat is 4 and ½ feet tall."
