FROM THE USGS WEBSITE:

Q: What is the probability that an earthquake is a foreshock to a larger earthquake?

A: Worldwide the probability that an earthquake will be followed within 3 days by a large earthquake nearby is somewhere just over 6%. In California, that probability is about 6%. This means that there is about a 94% chance that any earthquake will NOT be a foreshock. In California, about half of the biggest earthquakes were preceded by foreshocks; the other half were not. At this time, we cannot tell whether or not an earthquake is a foreshock until something larger happens after it... so only in retrospect.

Ohiochad: I suggest the santa ana river trail, down from the crossing of 38 or up or down from Glass road. Easy but some up and down, pictures not grand canyon but nice local flora etc

I asked at the Barton Flats Visitor Center and find that the South Fork trail head is open. SGWA volunteers have worked on the trail to allow it to be opened. Bad news is that the Fish Creek and Lost Creek trails are not open and no future opening for these can be seen. There is a closure order for these areas.

google "spot-the-station" and sign up for emails or text messages. This is a NASA site and only alerts you for viewable passes.

Had a great flyover this morning too. Went from WNW to ESE. The only thing shining in the sky as it cruised over.
