That meadow is one of my favorites. At the top is a water trough that seems to have water flow through it all year long. Last time I was there it did not hold water but the water ran down the center of the meadow. The only creatures I ran into there were a few deer and a burro who didn't like me parking in his living room. Bears are frequently seen there. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

BG, a couple of years ago I saw 3 bear cubs way off near the tree line, I was on the fire road. My darn camera was in my backpack and well in my haste to stop, trying to upclip, etc.. I scared them off into the trees, probably just as well as I know mmoma was out there somewhere. I was telling Cammy and Oden on Saturday that I have rarely seen deer anywhere up there. nothing in life is free, it ain't about easy it's about tough

There are a few side roads on the meadow side and that is where I have seen the deer. I have staked out the meadow hoping to see deer or bear in the meadow and haven't seen much in the meadow. I have some pictures of my grandfather hunting in that area. I think he was guiding someone back there. No roads then Probably one hundred years ago Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Still blaming that on the bears? Y'know, Nietzsche says: "Out of chaos comes order."
Just overheard my 7 year old grandson singing "The Grand Old Flag". "Should all the planktons be forgot, keep your eye on the Grand Old Flag". How cute is that?
Also - watch your step. It is baby rattler season. Where there is one, there are probably 10-20 more. Saw a one-button baby - very pretty - that came from the north end of Mt. Doble/Gold Mountain.
