Accidently you might have stumbled upon a great new idea for a jobs program! Currently sitting politicians could serve as mentors for the program as they have tons of experience in handling hot loads of BS.
Horses eat hay and grain. Dogs eat meat and animal by products. Dog poo is much more smelly, more like human waste. Horse poo is is good furtilizer. Dog poo is not. Just ask the poo expert!! I do agree that people should pick up in a CAMSITE area after there horses. Coon Creek is a known equestrian area. If you can't stand the poo....get out of the toilet! !
Good points...but would you want to lay your sleeping bag in it? And yes...it is a known equestrian area. Does that mean I have no right to expect a clean campsite or that I should just not return because it's users won't clean up after themselves? Would you be as blasé if I left my paper trash littered around the site? It's not smelly nor a health hazard. What doesn't kill me does NOT make me stronger. It makes me anxious, bitchy, and vulnerable...but nobody wants to see that embroidered on a pillow...Lisa Kogan...thx LXL...sorry i stole it from you! Ok, maybe I'm not sorry :-P

Coming west the settelers often had a sheet under their animals to collect this. But not for anything other then they burned it since other travelers had already taken anything else that burned. I would have thought there would be an area to tie your horses out of the camp itself. And in my ecpierence it dries quickly where it would not be a problem. Left in the camp itself the F.S. should check the records and at least send a letter to them. Or do you need to sign for a yellow post? Only time I camped was out of season and we just pulled in. Not even sure what the requirements were back then, or if there was supposed to be a fee. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

That was very rude of the people who left the manure! We always clean up after our animals when camping. Sometimes that means shoveling into barrels and hauling away. Sometimes it means raking, scooping, and spreading over a large area away from the camp. It depends on the area and what is required. To just leave it? Inconsiderate of not just regular campers but other horse groups as well. Its not the norm in the camps where I've been. Sorry that you had to deal with it.

Didn't mean to sound blase'. As I said, I do agree with you R. As for your trash I am sure it would smell like chocolate cake and other wonderful things! Just messin' with you because I am after all the "Queen of Poo!" I should have learned by now the the typed word is often miss construed.
