Just thought I'd let everyone know about my new ski history book: Lost Ski Areas of Southern California. A lost ski area is any place that had a tow or lift that no longer exists or operates. So, lots of history about Rebel Ridge, Snow Forest, etc. Not sure who is selling it in Big Bear, but it can be bought on Amazon or bn.com. Ingrid

No good deed goes unpunished.

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me alone.

Obama is currently in his fifth year of campaigning and speechmaking, which is considerably easier than being president. All it takes is a good writer, a teleprompter, a few lies and the ability to cry “wolf” every month or so.

Just overheard my 7 year old grandson singing "The Grand Old Flag". "Should all the planktons be forgot, keep your eye on the Grand Old Flag". How cute is that?

Also - watch your step. It is baby rattler season. Where there is one, there are probably 10-20 more. Saw a one-button baby - very pretty - that came from the north end of Mt. Doble/Gold Mountain.

There have been at least one cougar in the far reaches of Baldwin Lake and Lake William for several years.

I believe this young one is trying to find his own territory, away from the old one.
