Yes there is no slot. Which it did have one. But as of now the answer would be no. Maybe on the next model due out latter this year.

The Ads they have on TV must be for the new one.d

Regardless, when it arrives, the N2A guys have a Jelly Bean card for it. You can read up and drool on their website:

n2acards.com

You can either use your own card and DL the software, or buy their card with everything ready to go.

Update on the Iphone version of the Big Bear Scanner (from my Vendor):

Hello,

After Apple Developer services had been hacked all apps waiting to be reviewed have been rejected. From last week we have to reload and republish but not more than 4 apps / week. As soon as we have something we let you know.

Still nothing on the iPhone version, Craig?

Todd,

I've been watching the Kindle ads off and on to try to sort this out, and 'cuz I'm curious.

First, I no longer see ANY reference to an SD or micro SD card slot for any Kindles. I could have missed something, but I doubt it.

Second, the N2A site still provides an Android upgrade for Kindle HD, but there's still no reference to an SD version.

I suspect this means they somehow change the system software in the Kindle. Whether they do this without 'rooting' the device, I don't know. Rooting a device comes with risks. That's the beauty of the Nooks' approach to SD incorporation.
Aside: There's some added drama because the previously 'open' Cyanogen Mod Android system used by so many folks is being taken Private. The N2A folks are dealing with this, but it is a moving target.

I suppose the encouraging part of this is that N2A still supports a full Android upgrade for the Kindle, and it APPEARS to support your HD.

Bottom line: If indeed Amazon has decided NOT to offer a (suitable) SD card slot Kindle, I suggest strongly you contact the N2A folks to discuss what they're doing in some detail. For the software alone, their prices are super reasonable. However, that's not much solace if you end up 'bricking' your Kindle.

I wonder why Amazon gave a head fake regarding the SD slot (assuming I'm not just missing something). Perhaps they no longer perceive Nooks to be a threat, and so why torpedo their margins and reliability/risk (every hardware 'port' into a consumer electronic device presents a risk of having to deal with irate, ignorant customers; something which Steve Jobs-Apple avoided-still avoids like the plague).

Hey Dave. We are trying again... Apple has rejected the app 3 times now due to the mostly "quiet" nature of the stream.
We are trying another angle with them now as they do have other "scanner" type apps in their store.
What a pain....

We struggle with similar approval pains with our mobile sales app. I will personally NEVER own an iPhone for this reason. Android FTW.

Apple is a pain because apple is more secure. You take your chances with android/google, but it is easier.

Todd and any other eReader folks: The N2A folks have announced that a KitKat version of their product is now available. I was afraid they may be leaving the market, but apparently not. Good news!

PS: The web page announcement kinda sounded like for existing users of their last release, JellyBean, this is free. They never say the word 'free', but they say to go to the Google Play Store App Corner and DL the new OS.

The Android Big Bear Scanner Application has just been updated and it is available in the Google Play Store.
The update will make the app more compatible with the various android versions including 4.4.x and 5.x.
Also it now supports new platforms such as: armeabi-v7a, mips, x86

For those of you that have had issues with the stream just dropping out after a minute or two, this update should fix this.

Head on over to the Google Play store from your android device to get the latest version: [Click Here]

Hi All! Does anyone have any recommendations for an electrician in BBL? We are looking to run power for a new outdoor light and a new outlet today or tomorrow.
