There's been a few "reminders" of the hazards of earth movement. The C.E.R.T. training references the FEMA guidelines which should be reviewed on a regular basis.

remember, you will be on your own for at least 72 hrs, maybe more. The first item you will run out of is drinking water. Store at least 3 gall (3 days) per person, minimum. Remember to have supplies in your car and carry good walking shoes.

Great reminder NSA! Its been a bit shaky in our local areas this past few weeks. I am going to go ahead and swap out my backup food and water supply (its a couple years old) and re-check all of the other gear in the EQ kit.

Several folks here on SCM were very active in BBVCERT in the 2010-2014 era, but then the momentum more or less came to a screeching halt. I attribute this to the turnover of the board as well as a shrinking active membership base. The local chapter also came out with fairly stringent training requirements to retain membership which for a full time working person is difficult to attain due to the number of hours required to get the certifications. It is unfortunate. We do have a couple folks that sit on the MMA (Mountain Mutual Aid) and COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster) teams but that doesn't have the momentum that CERT once had.

doo.hick.ey - Thanks for sharing. I mean, I'm not totally colorblind to blue. I see reds as well as some greens much stronger. Blues generally appear as dull shades of violet and certain greens.

I believe they make smaller inflatable screens for drive-ins now. Wal-Mart's planning to have pop-up drive-ins in some parking lots using those.

Broadcast the sound over FM radio, to eliminate wiring each car.
I could bring the pirate ship as a concession stand. Full kitchen and I want to see if it floats.
