Very Interesting stuff as always Richard! We really appreciate all you and your team do to collect, organize, and categorize so much history in the Big Bear Valley and present portions of it here to SCM!

Thank you for the kind words. Apparently many others are at least looking at the file since the number of "views" is over 9000. I was wondering how accurate of a count that really is. I am thinking that every time someone clicks on the subject the view count goes up by one not some other quantity.

Richard, Yes, that would be the number of "views" since the thread was started in November. A view is simply that, a view of any page of the thread. Not Unique. For example, I viewed this thread 5 or 6 times to just read the various PDF files you posted so you can see how views can add up with just a single person, however, 9000+ views is WAY above average for a thread this old so you should feel good about that!

I am amazed that there has been over 23,000 views on this post. I am still looking to identify members of the cast that are unidentified in the panoramic photograph. If you have any idea please post.

We’ve had plenty of birds down in Crestline. Now that a lot of the migratory birds have moved on, it’s all but hatches, stellar jays, and a bunch of flickers hitting the suet. Our squirrel population hasn’t rebounded after that die off from years ago. We did get to watch a mom and her babies grow up this year. Now chipmunks, that’s another issue. We have dozens on our back hill. I wish they’d eat the acorns that are raining down on the house.

My wife has noticed a lack of birds at her feeders the past month. It all started when she spotted a hawk sitting on the neighbors fence, a few feet from the feeders. Except for that day, I don't think it is connected.

to you two guys having fun teasing each other about driving, I'll join you for a spicy drive on arctic circle in one of my SFA Squarebody Suburbans....... our friends with newer subs cant keep up. Solid axles and stiff springing make it feel literally like you are on railroad tracks. Of course straightaways are another matter with only 190 hp and 6k pounds

HIB, I have two Black Oaks and my yard is covered with acorns. In addition to my resident gray squirrel and chipmunks, the acorns have attracted a family of raccoons, but I don't think it connects to the birds. I could be wrong though...

Some friends hiked glory ridge last week and were commenting on how many acorns there are down lower, could that be where theyve gone?

Benny, I just ckd and my feeder is empty again. I think they like my new feeder. Will take a picture and send it to you. Also had to get a water moat to keep the ants off.
