To every man is given the key to the gates of heaven; the same key opens the gates of hell.

Sep 22 : 07:46pm fighters are always in my prayers...without them we would be ash.

Charlie Fire is now 3000 acres with 10% containment. 20-30 homes evacuated with about 100 structures threatened.

According to FlightRadar 24, the N40Y plane (Night Air Attack) is over the Charlie fire. This same plane has been the air attack over every fire at night that I can remember this year. God Bless him! Goat, I need your incredibly talented updates but by what I see, this Charlie fire is expanding rapidly.

Thank you everyone for the info. Now let's pray for these firefighters.

Great ISS sighting tonight DelJ! Thanks for the Intel! Looked like it came out of the due south west and then turned to the nearly due east. I guess the earth is round!

Thanks MGJ! Most of what I say usually just blows on by... (not that I have a problem with that)

Thanks MGJ! I see Tanker 914 coming into that area now on FlightRadar. He is the DC10. I don't see any other aircraft on FlightRadar. Hopefully he will do some good!

They just ordered mandatory evacuations for all of San Francisquito Canyon Rd from Lowridge Pl in Saugus north to Camp 14.

Thanks John for the updates on Charlie. Any nearby communities in harm's way?

Quakes. You are giving away your location! Now we know you live near unknown access road lol

Charlie Fire near Castaic is now 1200+ acres. A couple of web cam views here.

I'm hearing sirens - must be the response to the reported traumatic injury. It sounds like somebody got hurt really bad.

This closure also screwed up my new "drive time" feature which you have seen for the last week on the left side of the site. An incident on 18 at the switchbacks did close 18 early last week. Google was pretty quick to show that closure, however, their data says its closed through 9/25 which is not true. I have reported this to them several times but nothing has changed. So, I have re-written my code to use Google Drive Times (as they are the best at that), but ignore their closures and use only my CalTrans feed for that. Go figure.
