SAN BERNARDINO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is beginning a project to mill and overlay current pavement and improve American Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps on State Route 38 (SR-38) between Agate Street in Mentone to Valley of the Falls Drive, Forest Falls (post mile 15). The $4.9 million project, which was awarded to All American Asphalt, began on August 1, 2018, with the contractor mobilizing equipment and placing signage. Lane reductions will start on August 20, 2018. The project is expected to be completed in late 2018.

During the project there will be lane closures with flagging operations, as needed. One lane will remain open in each direction during work hours. Motorists may expect delays due to one-way traffic control and occasional, short-term, moving lane closures between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flagging operations are expected to begin on Monday, August 20, 2018. For work from August 1 to 24, 2018:

Both On State Route 38 (SR-38) from Agate Street, Mentone to Falls Drive, Forest Falls (PM 15)
August 1 to 3, 2018 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No lane closures. Mobilization of equipment and sign placements

Both On SR-38 from Agate Street, Mentone to Falls Drive, Forest Falls August 6 to 17, 2018
5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No lane closures. Shoulder only closed for ADA upgrade work.

North and Southbound On SR-38 from Amethyst St. to Forest Falls (PM 15) August 20 to 24, 2018
5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flagging Operation: 1 lane closed for paving preparation and work

Btw, I saw a plow on the 38 by Hatchery. No chain control posted yet. Could become an issue as downhiller's may try to leave early with no chains (may not be necessary later once the sun has had a chance to melt things)

And easy there quakes, there's been one micro quake, a 0.9 in the past hour. That hardly qualifies as a "flare up
