WATCH LIVE: SPACEFLIGHT SSO-A: SMALLSAT EXPRESS

SpaceX is targeting launch of the Spaceflight SSO-A: SmallSat Express mission to low Earth orbit on Sunday, December 2 from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Carrying 64 payloads, this mission represents the largest single rideshare mission from a U.S.-based launch vehicle to date. The mission will also be the first time SpaceX has launched the same booster a third time. Falcon 9’s first stage for the Spaceflight SSO-A: SmallSat Express mission previously supported the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 mission in May 2018 and the Merah Putih mission in August 2018.

The primary launch window on December 2 opens at 10:32 a.m. PST, or 18:32 UTC, and closes at 11:00 a.m. PST, or 19:00 UTC. A backup launch window opens on Monday, December 3 at 10:32 a.m. PST, or 18:32 UTC, and closes at 11:00 a.m. PST, or 19:00 UTC.

Following stage separation, SpaceX will attempt to land Falcon 9’s first stage on the “Just Read the Instructions” droneship, which will be stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

Delta IV Heavy Launch Scheduled

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. - Team Vandenberg is scheduled to support the launch of a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket carrying a National Reconnaissance Office payload from Space Launch Complex-6 on Friday, Dec. 7, with a launch window opening at 8:19 p.m. PST.

Col. Bob Reeves, 30th Space Vice Wing commander, will be the space launch commander.

"Team V has put in a lot of hard work for this launch," said Reeves. "We are dedicated to mission success and proud to work alongside United Launch Alliance and the National Reconnaissance Office."

The 4th Space Launch Squadron executes integrated launch operations with a focus on mission assurance for this spacelift mission.

"Every mission is unique and this Delta IV Heavy launch is a prime example of teamwork with a laser focus on mission success," said Lt. Col. Kenneth Decker, 4th SLS commander and Air Force Launch Director for the mission.
"Our mission assurance technicians and engineers have worked diligently with United Launch Alliance and the other mission partners to reduce risk in order to assure mission safety and security. The men and women of the 4 SLS are proud to contribute to this important mission."

If you want to post productive suggestions to help people that's awesome, we're all for it and that's what this is for! But the past few days has been nothing but whining about traffic and how much Big Bear sucks and how glad folks are to be moving out. Do whatcha go to do, the rest of us are moving forward with or without you to try and create a resolution that will better our valley for everyone.

Benny,

I get that, but people coming up here and that live DTH need to see these conversations so they know what go’s on up here from a local’s perspective so they know what creates issues. I see it as an educational tool. I’ve been using this site since 2007 and I use it because I know I can have those conversations with other locals in an easy and quick way. Navigating deep into the website to post something that 10% of people go see is pointless in my humble opinion, but whatever man.....will do.

So sorry. I asked an honest question. I have seen all kinds of lengthy convo's on here so I wasn't sure why some were ok and some weren't. I'd never seen anyone told to move their convo elsewhere until this weekend. There aren't any rules posted so the only way to find out is to ask questions. Didn't mean to upset anyone. No more questions!
