I used to live over at Aeroplane and Sawmill. Stopped by to see the progress before I moved to Boulder Bay. I'm blown away, Mountainart! Cant wait to see the finished cabin!

Starting to work on the doors, am using 4 inch thick live edge solid wood slabs Vick cut last year, the wood was let to do its own thing with drying and they all have slight bowing and waving, which gives a super cool vibe to the door surface. The door jambs are contoured/routered to follow bowing. Eventually, there will be the ironwork added, like the door example shown in the first pick of one of my other doors(for now though, just put in some generic antique door latches to keep doors closed)

Doors weigh about 150 pounds, and open/close with just a gentle touch of your pinkie.

Just got back from a trip to Florida, looks like Disney wants me to repair/replace a bunch of old world looking structure on the 7 Swarves mine ride! Original construction was made from cast concrete to look like old hand hewn wood, but they didn't seal the rebar, so it is exfoliating/compression expanding, and scale plates of concrete starting to fall off...yikes. so, looks like we might be redoing with real logs! Super cool!

Their wood concrete repro work looks pretty good, but colors age all wrong. All that "wood l0gs" is concrete color cast, from molds taken from sculpted fake log work. Fun to see different take on woodworking

Finally got the first section of roof beams and joists up! So exciting to actually start looking like a house.

Main ridge beam is 10"x18", edge hangs over side of house by 7'.

roof side beam/joists are 6"x12", spaces about 6' o/c. There will be purlins and smaller rafter beams grinding into these main beams.

I missed the sheriff driving up 38 but if you were referring to Jeff James' video 6 is [Click Here] of Redlands Buzz. I liked the last 1/3 of video.

Yes, PayPal is fast and useful in this age of computers, just sign up, link a bank account and/or Credit Card and verify it. Clients often pay me with an email using send money 'friends & family'. No fee.

The swelling from the scorp bite is about gone!

Anyone have or know where the link is to video taken Friday by sheriff driving up Hwy 38? Shows fire burning along side of road...

Not seeing any smoke rising over the south ridge of Big Bear....good sign! Air Attack Supervisor just arrived from Hemet and is overflying the area now. No tankers or choppers yet, which I would assume is another good sign.

Consider posting PAYPAL emblem below instead of credit cards. Just discovered by accidentafter 10 yrs that PayPal takes the donations when the credit card pics at bottom of this screen are touched. More Donations would Come in if people knew it was that FAST secure immediate way to do it.
