No more Mr. Nice Guy. I am going to be the squeaky wheel and I hope the rest of you will join me. I'm not going to keep waiting to see if things get better every weekend. If they bother me, I am calling. Repeatedly. Like others have said, we gain nothing by trying to be nice. Nothing. Maybe I'm just grouchy with everything else going on but I'm tired of rolling over for these idiots.

I couldn't agree more.

My wife just BLASTED Destination Big Bear on Instagram. Running ads like "spend time with all your friends in Big Bear!"
No mention of fires, closures or pandemic of course.

I'm glad she did, Spiceguy however I'm sure they don't care. All they're interested in is making a few bucks at everyone elses expense

I honestly believe the agencies are conducting business as usual while telling Mr. Rush that their reservations and bookings are at ⅓ of normal (per city council mtg comments). Rentals around us are NOT at 33%, more like 80-85% capacity.

I'm sure they are. Something really needs to be done about this.

And if Mr Rush even professes to not knowing this information or being aware of what is actually happening out here, he has automatically become part of the problem and like the rest of the councel he needs to go also, I'm sure Tahoe will welcome him back . CV19 protocols are obviously not being considered at all by a number of the owners and most of the big rental companies. Yep, biz as normal. Greed cures all ails here in Big Bear, and we thought it was the clean air . The new Big Bear Credo - BACK TO BACK IS AS GOOD AS CRACK

Seems they move up here and need a little extra for the obituary The Octoberfst going on and filling the vacation Rentals this weekend with a major fire over the hill not my idea of smart, I’m not voting for any of them for anything.

I dod, however, use the indoor drop at the Post Office rather than an outside box.

Official Absentee ballot instructs us to go to SBCountyElections.com. I dropped mine on 10/17, it was received at the SB County registrar on 10/20.

Casadelgado - Did they say how long it took for them to show up as received?

Dave - ha ha I don't know why I assumed you dropped them off last Monday! Keep me posted if yours is updated any time soon.

We have 3 friends who used the drop box at the Library and they all have been received by the tracking. Dropping ours off tomorrow.

We mailed our ballots and got confirmation that they are where they need to be

@Sportyj: No, it was just two days ago.

I dropped mine off at the post office yesterday, received confirmation of receipt today from ballottrax (you have to sign up for it and updates come from caballottrax via email at every step of the way). Interested to see how long before it gets delivered to elections office but at least I have documentation.

Dave - I called the elections office and they said to give ours until next Monday before we move forward with “next steps” (whatever that means). Knowing yours was dropped over a week ago and still hasn’t been updated makes me even more worried. Hoping our ballots are not lost!

We deposited ours in the library drop box on Monday. Haven't received notification yet either.

Benny - I wish I would have just used the post office. Had spoken with some people who said to try and limit the impact on PO since already overburdened. Apparently that was bad advice. There are two official drop boxes in Big Bear - apparently they are only picking up every 96 hours. Hopefully I can locate my ballot!

Mailed it from the post office, was scanned in transition and received pretty quick. I would probably just mail it. It should have registered by now, unless they're only emptying that once a week? I didn't think we even had drop boxes up here for that? Really no need with all the post offices.

Has anyone else used the ballot drop boxes in town? I dropped mine at the library a week ago and it’s still not showing up as received at the county office.
