the ones I have seen were much higher then that and had planks nailed to trees. and that looks to be in pretty good shape If that is one I am thinking about I think it was a treehouse. Swing down by the nursery and you shoud see one of the old ones to compare
The ones I remember were about that size. had a door and open viewing windows

Right, from what I've read about them, they were at least 20 feet up in the trees so they could observe the entire yard for mating activity, and without disturbing the critters. From the looks of these photos, some of that wood is modern plywood and too fresh to be decades old.

FWIW, this one does have a door on it that I don't think is visible in my pictures but it definitely is not 20 feet off the ground (maybe 10 at the most). It's in someone's backyard and the house is on McAllister. The kids that used to live there were always throwing rocks at it. Since I'm back dth this week, I haven't had time to swing by the nursery to check out a known original.

If it is at the house that is surrounded by a wood fence so about all you can see is the roof. It is a tree house

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

bgs - At least the back of the house has a chain link fence; not sure about the rest. If anyone's in the area and wanted to check, it's 859 McAlister (west side of McAlister). Map is here [Click Here]
