Z cables are awesome.

Dr B: if you have 4wd, cables should suffice (chains for 4wd is overkill -- if conditions are that bad where you need chains (instead of cables) on 4wd you should really reconsider what are you doing out on the road.

Also, don't assume a chain installer will be available to do an install.

We have lived up here since the early 2000s. Our philosophy has always been to not travel in R2 or R3 conditions. We are older and have 4wd. Recently we have more doctor appts off the hill so we thought we should purchase chais. Our tires are 235/60R18. We want something that is easy to put on in the garage (if going down)l If we were coming up we would probably pay someone to put them on for us. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
