Funny!!! I was gonna reply to Doo's comment with "Why? So you can tell at kids 'Hey! Get off my lawn!'"... But considering that he doesn't really have lawn, the comedic effect was going to muted. But the fact that Hole made the same lawn reference makes me wonder... Are you reading my thoughts? (Time to double up on the tin foil!)

CB (citizen's band) did not require a license, but was limited to 5 watts. A lot of radios seemed to exceed that. 2 meter and 440 Hz are still HAM bands last I heard and require a license. Of course, with the cheap Chinese radios, lots of people now have them and ignore the laws. Kind of like speed limits.

Im tempted to set up the old cb with the pa and attach it to the shed to yell at the "guests" to get off my lawn, whoops, snowdrifts...theyre mostly melted away so the attraction is gone. People peeking around the corner at us in the hot tub is getting old tho...found my loudspeaker in the mud up at lake sonoma a long time back, cleaned it up and dried it out and well, its still plenty loud...

It's PA sounds great.

CB is to AM, as FRS/GMRS is to FM.

And to an extent, quite literally in regards to the modulation technique respective bands use. That's why CB sounds so crappy... Like ordering food via drive thru intercom

Boy back in the 70's EVERYBODY had a cb. I had a big walkie talkie for my tin boat, dad put up a giant quarter wave groundplane antenna lakefront, it got out all the way to erwin. My handle was "tin ears", all my friends had them too. Good times!

The CB antenna can light up a 4 ft fluorescent tube if held parallel to it. New HAM components needed?

Does he Baofeng UV-9R have output?

Are CB vehicle systems a thing of the past? Got a mid-high power Cobra w/PA speaker mounted under the hood. All it gets used for.
Can it pull HAM?
Should I pull the unit for model #?
