Speaking of Lakeview Dr., though, it’s not the cars that bother me as much as the bikes, runners, and walkers traveling against the flow of traffic. I don’t need coffee in the morning after nearly committing vehicular homicide coming around one of those blind corners. 😂

After reading your comments, I now know who some of you are.

You are the ones who:
-use your emergency flashers as a thank-you when I pull over to let you pass
-know how to use not only marked turnouts but also other open paved areas to pull over
-keep the right if you are the slower traffic
-keep on your side of the double yellow
-flash your lights at me as I’m approaching an accident, or some other danger in my lane

Well stated, Bearable. Even within the valley, locals have adopted the "hurry up!" city mindset. The other day I was on Lakeview Drive (a hilly neighborhood street with lots of blind curves) and was aggressively tailgate by a GARDEN TRUCK. Even gardeners have forgotten how to relax!

Regarding .mountain driving, 38 is not a racetrack. Its a beautiful drive. 5 less minutes down to Mentone or up to Big Bear doesn’t have to be a high pressure trip.

To get overly pissed at someone who is not squealing wheels is silly and rude.

Reminds me of my first weekend back in 88. Letter to Editor explaining to readers that when the headlights are in your backseat its time to pull over. Struck me as funny as a flatlander. Now im just glad I dont have to make that trip very often these days. Stay dry everyone. Im wondering if i need to break out the floaties for the Bark Squad again 🫤

We’ve been driving down two or three times a week for my husband’s physical therapy, and I cannot believe the idiots that think they are entitled to go as slow as they want and pass up every turn off there is. It drives me nuts and I know it raises my blood pressure! We came up yesterday morning about 10 following five Big buses and they didn’t pull off till almost the upper passing. How rude! I am going to report them. I just forgot about it until now! Have a nice night.

Update 4 p.m. Oct. 8: Period of concern is now 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Instead of midnight to 9pm. Hey, at least the window is getting smaller!!

Southern California Edison (SCE) has informed BVES of a potential public safety power shutoff (PSPS) Saturday, Oct. 10, from 12:01 a.m. to 9 p.m. (essentially all of Saturday). This period of concern is due to high winds and fire conditions that may affect their lines serving our area.
