Boots, you can pretty much write off ever seeing a city sports complex. Would be too much for the locals, not dedicated to tourism so to speak. Since they screwed up the Meadow Park pool, we will never see another one on city $$. Hard enough to keep Meadow Park open for what little sports they will allow there now. County will have to bear the burden, or the school district but look how long that is taking. Kids being occupied by such acitivities doesn't seem to be all that important unless they are your kids. Have the space, have the money, don't have the cajones to pull the trigger. Hey, Happy 4Th of July Weekend Folks. Have Fun. I'm going to take a well deserved nap

The city should have taken advantage of that land off Sandalwood to build a sports complex. Sadly now it's been diivied up into smaller lots and we'll end up with one of the nicest locations and views in the valley being packed with commercial buildings and parking lots.

According to the grizzly, A large parcel is being graded to level ground with a lot of dirt being moved from the parcel on Sandalwood Drive in big Bear Lake just north of Fox Farm Road. It is unconfirmed the newly cleared lot is part of a land swap between big Bear Mountain resort and Bear Valley community healthcare District.
