TRY THIS:
In Chrome click the 3 dots top right to bring up settings. scroll down on those settings until you see DESKTOP SITE. Check that box. close and reopen chrome and see if SCM is any better for you.

That problem with ads covering completely is happening on my iPad with Chrome browser.
