Yes, a very sad day. The deceased victim has been identified as Edgar Chavez, 43 years of age, out of Riverside. He was working when struck by the vehicle this morning at Big Bear Blvd and Greenway.

That was a terrible accident/hit and run. Prayers to family and loved ones of the deceased.🙏

Highway 38 at Greenway has reopened after being closed for several hours due to a fatal accident.

Sadly we passed this fairly soon after it happened. It was in the area where they've been working. We wondered if it was a CalTrans worker that had been hit. Condolencrs to family and friends.

The Coroner Has Arrived At The Scene Of This Mornings Fatal Hit-and-run At Greenway And Big Bear Blvd. Highway 38 Remains Closed Between Greenway And Paradise. A Detour Is In Place.
