Emotes Not Working
Debbie Doodah, Sat Jul 30 2011, 12:46PM

The emotes are not working for me in the threads. I can use them with the chat box. Any ideas why this is happening?

We just updated our Mac software, so it may be a setting I haven't found yet.

Yes, it's in your settings somewhere. See what happens when you have a mac, nothing but problems!

No problem on my Mac, Deb. But I'm still at 10.6.7. I'm assuming you upgraded to Lion (10.7)? (Actually, I like bkap's answer better).

Debbie, did you ever get this resolved?

Mine do not work either. Using Google Chrome. Probably something simple but have not figured it out.

I'm having no trouble with Firefox on XP.

Still haven't figured it out. We did upgrade to Lion.

Hey Oden! They work in the chatbox but not in the forums?
Does the Emote Dialog pop up so you can select one, or do you get nothing?
I guess if you can get a screenshot of where you do not get something that should be there would help.
Thanks man!

Yes, they work in chat but not in threads. No dialog box pops up. I select the emotes button and nothing happens. I hope this helps!

I'll take a look at it ...

I get the full emotes box to come up in the chat window, but when I try to open the emotes in the forums, I only get the first few lines of them, not the full emotes box. I just assumed it was something with the iPad I use up here....which, being an Apple product, it very well could be!

Io have that on the iPad as well. But our Mac desktop won't open the emote box at all in chat

They have never worked for me in the forums. I am also using chrome.
The size dialog and color dialog boxes do not open either.

I'm still having no problems on my Mac. I'm on a Macbook Pro, running 10.6.7, and using Safari 5.0.5. Don't have an iPad to try it on (yet).

Well, time to bump this back up. emotes no longer work for me either in the forums. I have the exact symptoms that Oden describes above. Since my last post, I've upgraded to OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1. I have no idea which caused the problem.

Okay, now I'm confused (a condition I'm not unfamiliar with). I just tried it again and it seems to work. Same Mac, same OS X 10.6.8 and same Safari 5.1. I was going to try LupinOne's Firefox suggestion, but what's the point now...
