The Big Bear Computer Club is beginning to focus on exploring diverse areas of technologies as the Big Bear Technology Group, which will be a division of the Big Bear Computer Club. Technology has been defined as the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, the environment; that is the application of this knowledge to practical ends resulting in products and merchandise.
We have provided a simple one question survey asking: What types of technologies would you like to learn more about? To complete the one question survey please go to [Click Here] and enter the survey code: 3026 …your response to the question is confidential and your identity unknown. We will report back the outcome of this survey.

Thanks Bill! This new charter looks very cool! There is so much technology out there these days outside of computers that it is mind blowing. Thanks for taking this on!

The Survey of Technological Needs.
Computers are no longer the sole electronic device of our home, business, and lives.
Now we have phones, cameras, home ‘hubs’, networks, security, etc. All of these could be addressed by the SoCalMountains in conjunction with the Big Bear Technology Group. All we need are requests from you as to which devices/usages should be discussed.
A Starter List:
The Smart Home
Hubs
Components (Heating, A/C, Lighting, etc.)
Mixing old/new components
System Security (Don’t let your toaster divulge anything to anybody!)
Home Security
Options
The Computer
Operating Systems
Applications of any type
Internal Networks
Cloud usage
The Internet
Social Networking
Facebook, Twitter, etc..
Benefits vs Perils
Productivity
Financial
Business
Educational
Security
Shopping

I would love to help out with the personal assistants (IE Alexa, Google Home) and Home Automation Hubs (Smartthings, IRIS, etc). I have been spending a lot of time and money implementing a large SmartThings system as well as several home assistant devices. In working with IFTTT, Smartthings, and Alexa routines, you can do some pretty amazing things. Really have fun playing with that stuff!
