baldwin car fire 8/22

came upon this car fire at 6:45 there was already someone getting to it with a fire extinguisher an only white smoke showing. occupants were on side of road. car was up on the side in the brush. very luck it was not windy. turened around and went back to town and past high school and back around baldwin the other way..

here is the fire 15 minutes after i saw it burning, fd had still not arrived and smoke had turned black. idk what that means.

SINGLE VEHICLE ROLLOVER ON HWY 18
Rollover Causes Vegetation Fire

BIG BEAR CITY, CA/August 22, 2019– At approximately 6:52 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019, fire crews responded to a report of a traffic collision resulting in a vegetation fire on Highway 18 near Holcomb Valley Road. Upon arrival, crews found a rollover accident of a single vehicle on fire that spread to nearby vegetation. Interim Battalion Chief Luke Wagner assumed command of the incident. Engine 282, Water Tender 282, the crew from Medic Ambulance 282 and Cal Fire Engine 3558 were responsible for achieving fire knock-down within 10 minutes. Two passengers suffered minor injuries. There were no injuries to firefighters.
