MtnMan, I just don't see the cleanup & re-forestation budget for 20-200+ acres of these giant fires.

I've already mentioned subcontracting out us local off-roaders. Fit w/small mobile car wash system.
Pay them $100 a night to doo what they already doo. Make a schedule. Ham/cb it up, the connectivity would be worth it alone.
A magnetic door badge would be sweet and ID.

I get what MtnMan and Boots are saying...
But if more Ranger patrols could be budgeted, like 12 fold of the current crews. Wouldn't that be super cost effective? Prevention. I mean really, every half hour, patrolled, heck, every trail.
..Would be a drop in the bucket instead of the cost to fight these monster fires that sum in the mega millions, let alone loss of life.

MtMan- a few big ones have started over there. Most of the area on the East and South should have had the forest trimmed up to community boundaries.

We had an amazing amount of thunder streaks if lighting and a downpour of rain in San Diego. What fun. It did not last long. But it was fun while it was here.
