GMama, should be great viewing this weekend aside from the full moon with fairly mild temps! Our warmest weekend so far this year.

I would head east out towards Baldwin Lake. Maybe up around God's eye, or near Lucky Baldwin Mine. If you're feeling more adventurous, cruise out to Holcomb Valley or back 2N02 towards Rose Mine. Good, dark viewing without as many city lights.

Hey, all knowing Big Bear peeps! Any info on the viewing possibility of the Lyrid Meteor shower here in Big Bear? Heard it's peaking this weekend, but fullish moon may be an issue.

Interesting there Squirrely. Allstate was the jerks that just threw me under the bus after more than 40ys.

Re Insurance P.S. The "difference in conditions" part of the ins. is coming soon to Allstate in Chino.

Heads up Crystalfox . RE Insurance: I got a good deal at Allstate (Alsop Ins. in Chino). Talk to Denice Santos. She helped me pick only the coverage I wanted. Several of my neighbors got good deals there too.

And there are reports now that because the CA Fair plan was never designed first of all for forest fires, but also for this amount of properties. The program is overoaded and I would expect to see it fail also in the next 2 years or so, so what happens when the supposed life line goes under? I have heard of a lot of owners who are in the position to just forgo insurance and do thier due diligance and hope Mother Nature is kind.

To those that still have private insurance I say your days are numbered. When I bought in 2019 there were no choices according to Big Bear Insurance. It was Cal Fairplane and some B class insurance for "Difference in Conditions" which covers everything else. at the time it was double what I was paying for a house worth over a Million$ in Huntington beach and now it's worse. I have a Sugar shack and it's over $2K. I h heard that those with really nice and large houses are $5K for Fair plan alone. There are ways to harden your house to save a little but you are still screwed. Good luch.

On one hand i wanna yell at those reminding me its not mothers day yet. On the other, ive lost a lot of plants by not observing the mothers day rule, *sigh*
