Enjoying a gorgeous Mother's Day with above-normal temperatures and dry conditions. Big Bear will get up around 70 degrees through much of this week with temperatures consistently over the century mark for our lower deserts, almost summer-like out there!
An upper-level low will spin into the neighborhood Tuesday and Wednesday bringing sufficient mid-level moisture combined with instability from daytime heating to spark a few afternoon showers. An isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, mainly on Wednesday.
This is not the start of the monsoon though it's the same process for afternoon convection. Hurricane season also officially begins on Wednesday across the East Pacific in what should be a relatively 'mellow' year, in contrast to the above-normal storms expected in the Atlantic Basin.
