That tragic incident is actually helpful to know about, from the standpoint of safety. I had no idea that tent walls could contain a lethal load carbon monoxide! Granted, I've never used a heater inside our tent, but it always seems like wind blows right through (maybe our bottom-of-the-line tent's just super flimsy).

I should have typed, "...blazing past with lights and sirens..."

Anyone know why 3x police cruisers were headed west on Big Bear Blvd last night? They went blazing past the Legion at about 7PM.

MountainKitten. 3 people were found dead in their tent after using a propane heater inside the tent with 3 dogs tied up outside of the tent. Not sure the community really "needs" to know this information but because you wanted the info, hope it helps you..

FYI - the hazard abatement map applies only to areas inspected by County of San Bernardino. In Big Bear, that includes Fawnskin, only.

Other areas, such as those managed by Big Bear Authority (the rest of the valley other than Fawnskin) do not appear on the map.
