Lol, my very ahead of its time ebike had a maybe four mile range, hit twenty going down red ant hill, and with its passing it thoroughly convinced me that i'm getting a new one with a hundred mile range. The right one will cover the entire valley, get to interlaken and back, and save a whole lotra money on gas...

Most e-bikes already have lights, reflectors, and governors, etc., so most are compliant out of the box. Some can be tweaked to go faster than 20 mph in class 2-full throttle mode, but it's unlikely rentals would do that.

If they go over 20-30 mph with throttle only, they're really a motorcycle and require an M1 or M2 endorsement, or L, as most states are moving to, but we all know how that goes. lol

So I'm wondering how the new CA ebike rules will affect the rental business in BB. Will the local law conveniently ignore the rules?
