Socalmountains.com 'SCM' is a not for profit community service. All monies received go back into the costs of running the website. SCM has several one-time and recurring charges required in order to operate. These costs include scanner and computer hardware, server leasing, and data services (mapping, traffic, etc) from providers such as Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

SCM uses 3rd party advertisers such as Google Adsense to provide some income to offset these costs. Although this income is helpful, it doesn't always cover the recurring costs and when new hardware is needed (such as upgraded servers and digital scanner equipment), a financial deficit is created.

Thanks to the many of you who have donated, SCM continues to thrive and expand its services for the mountain communities. In December 2020 SCM will turn 18 years old! It has come this far only due to supplemental donations.

If you would like to support this site, we would gladly accept your donation of any amount as every dollar counts! We realize that there is a huge competing market of great causes to support and we thank you for considering supporting SCM.

Hello SCMers!
Its been a rough few days of issues with the site. Thanks for hanging in there. Our web hosting provider had a myriad of hardware issues that affected most of our live data, then portions of the site, and then the entire site. We are hoping that things will stabilize now. Be advised that some live data processing (dispatches, road conditions, etc) will not be fully back online until later today. Thanks for hanging in there as we attempt to get everything back to normal.
