Boots I checked with Caltrans, and they responded: "There is an issue a design regarding a culvert that our engineers are looking into and working with the San Bernardino Forestry and San Bernardino Water Resources Board can take time due to permitting. So, without the proper approvals, we advised out construction crews to suspend the project until everything is in order. "
Does anyone know what's really going on with 38? Suspended work while there are big open cuts on the mountainside just waiting for our monsoons so they can come sliding down?

We have a full Chino response on scene, along with LA County units. I'll get you those when I can. Can you give me a rundown of CAL FIRE resources inbound? Potential for 100 to 200 acres, imminent threat to structures.
FYI - The USFS has been performing a vehicle fire, vegetation fire, and medical aid drill at the Discovery Center in Big Bear. "Discovery IC". The operations on the Scanners are again a drill and not a real incident.
