Glad to see caltrans at work fixing up that spring fed pothole farm right round castle rock trailhead, that's been a menace since last winter...

Njreyn - the CalTrans narrative has had issues with accuracy for perhaps a year now.

A far better option is CalTrans QuickMaps app. On the app, go to Options, click on most of them, and details not seen elsewhere become visible. When clicked on, the little icons on the map (traffic cones, tires, triangles, barriers, etc.) will reveal more details.

And a further intrusion--the CA DOT site says it's closed all the way to C'berry. What gives? And for how long? Etc?

Pardon a flatlander question, but the CHP alert for HWY 18 closure is a bit unclear--at least in my pea-brain. It's closed from Boulder Bay to the airport?! Until tonite? How does that work? Planning on being UTH tomorrow, but it's a loooong way around to the "front side" from Vegas (baby)...
