keepitsimple4 hour(s) ago No Marshall, we do not believe the mountain belongs to us. We are fully aware of the roll tourists play in our economy and are happy to share the beautiful place we call home. We make fun of flatlanders as a coping mechanism for the ignorant at best, and at times atrocious, behavior they display. Leaving trash everywhere; there seems to be a particular penchant for broken sleds and dirty diapers. Causing traffic hazards by not utilizing pulls out (we don’t care that people are slow, we just hate when they’re rude about it), parking in the highway to snowplay (not to mention sledding into the highway), parking in other people’s driveways because they don’t want to shovel their Airbnb, and not using chains appropriately. Leaving graffiti and toilet paper in the forest. We don’t think we own the mountain, but we do think we are owed the same respect that others would expect if we were to visit their home.
marshall5 hour(s) ago Can i ask a question? Do the long term Mt.Residents think that the hills belong to them? Is everyone coming up the hill to ski, fish, eat, stay and spend money considered an outcast? Flatlanders? Knuckleheads? Without them,Big Bear would be a ghost town in 5 years. Big Bear is full of the same as folks down the hill.Maybe more.
