SCE PSPS has Concluded Big Bear Lake, CA – Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) is informing customers that Southern California Edison (SCE) has restored power from the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that affected BVES supply lines. Electric service has now been fully restored to all Bear Valley Electric Service customers. Following the successful completion of system inspections, Southern California Edison PSPS warning period has concluded.
Good for us to remember that SCE is the one who cuts power to us- not BVES. I have no love for BVES but they really get no say in which of the lines that bring power up the mtn get de-energized. They get stuck with the complaints. BVES did spend money installing new non- sparking equipment. SCE has chosen not to and instead we get PSPS. Contact CPUC to complain about that and BVES' outrageous rates?
Alright so good to know that 12 am Sunday cutoff was a bunch of bs. Anyone else tired of companies like this doing whatever they want because it's suits them?
Good morning, all. Would SCM Alerts please tell me how I can get the notices for “Imminent Southern California Edison Public Safety Power Shutoff"? (posted by SCM ALERTS Saturday 27 June 2026 - 19:22:39). I have tried to work with the SCE website by viewing the Doble circuit but can't figure out how to get the notices and BVE does NOT send these particular notices. This is VERY important. And, I am furious about losing hundreds of $ in food (I cannot have a generator). How does BVE justify selling power they do not own and cannot provide?
Let’s look at the bright side. The sky is sparkling blue this morning and we have made it through another day to find something else to [censored] about!
Thank you for the birthday wishes. I will enjoy a beautiful hike with my husband and later head to Murrays for an adult beverage. It doesn’t get any better than that. Glad to be above ground another year 😂
Fairly strong southwest wind -- enough to create white caps out on the lake this morning. Will this subside soon, someday avert another PSPS? I can't obtain a full forecast because the National Weather Service website isn't functioning (as of 7:25 am, anyway).
Sugarloaf power outage (again) at 1am, winds are extremely calm. Up here it gets windy very often, they gotta figure something out (Bear Valley Electric). We have the highest R8s in California.
