MountainDreamin1 hour(s) ago Yeah, sounds like quite battle. Thanks for the info, SCM!
SCM ALERT🚨1 hour(s) ago They may drop phos-chek and water all over the fire to slow or stop it's advance, however every percent of containment line is a hard cut line that is built to ensure the fire cant get across it. that's why containment % is so slow. it takes a ***load of work per foot
MountainDreamin1 hour(s) ago Thx Julie. 5%... sounds like they are letting a lot of fuels burn, while keeping the fire controlled. Muni_Captain would know the answer! Muni, where are you?

WestyN1 hour(s) ago Power still out …Cedar Pines all the way to the east thru Arrowhead. Estimated outage over 3:30 PM
GVL Rick2 hour(s) ago Power Outage Update Earlier this morning shortly after 5:00 am, an electrical disruption affecting approximately 18,000 customers in San Bernardino occurred when eleven 12kV circuits out of the Shandin Substation were interrupted. Preliminary reports indicate a train contacted overhead equipment, resulting in a downed conductor near West 4th Street and Cabrera Avenue. SCE crews have been inspecting lines and restoring power as they go, and we will have estimated restoration time once we’re able to safely inspect all lines. All power is expected to be restored by late this afternoon (8/5).
MountainHawk2 hour(s) ago They usually give notice for PSPS. Like a text at 2am walking you up.
MountainDreamin2 hour(s) ago Per this morning's update (936 acres and 0% containment), does the lack of containment mean that the firefighters are allowing fuels to burn in a kind of "guided" manner?
I'm asking because the aerial tankers have been dropping on this fire day and night with incredible dedication, yet there's zero containment. So is this effort more of a controlled burn?
⚡WX ALERT⚡2 hour(s) ago I would assume part of the SCE PSPS? We are under a PSPS Watch for the Big Bear Valley, but have a backup line, so ours didn't go out, yet anyway.
