Air Attack 51 just arrived over the GOLD fire. He is going to perform an updated mapping of the Fire. Per the City of Big Bear Lake, USFS and CALFIRE will be setting up a basecamp at Snow Summit's Sandalwood Parking lot which is located behind Vons. Expect an increased presence of firefighting equipment in the area until this incident is concluded.

just something to consider.... the people that are updating Watch Duty may not be familiar with the area and have full context.

If you go to the CalFire page for the Gold Fire [Click Here] , Pinnacles is north of Pocilo Alma Mine Ac Rd . The Holcomb Valley camp ground is just to the left of the clearing area bettween Pocilo and Holcomb valley road

Hornet, sounds like a reading comprehension issue. Watch Duty has the update directly from InciWeb that indicates the Pinnacles and Campground, as well as a number of Forest Service roads, are closed for public and firefighter safety.

Some people are saying that last nite according to their fire duty watch app that the fire is at the Pinnacles and Holcomb V. Campground. I don't think that's accurate. Any new news?
