Being an early adopter of Fiber, their install did not go without weirdness itself:
Online ordered, no live person was the way to go being $44 was best they could do on phone con. $29 established via the web.
First engineer bloke comes out to assess the location’s area. I point out our buried BVES service including its midpoint pedestal. The buried service was opt’d to not block the view. This guy states “…oh sure we can do that..” starts sticking in marker flags from closest pole up to the house.
[I’m all, well chit me. To myself]
In a week or so the Sub contractor installer arrives…
“Aww No sir, we don’t do that for these case types.”
I then plead the view situation from his tie-in assessment up on the deck.
“Just tee the drop, mid line as Spectrum did.”
Turns out it was a ~30-40 ft shorter run. The fiber is the ‘lite’ line wire so less drag on the winds here (Spectrum has had to re-tighten once, re-ran once doo to line stretch.
