BootsNBridles10 minute(s) ago I asked CalTrans- the current closure is basically East Jenks all the way to Lake Williams.
[AOF]Doolittle 47 minute(s) ago Another earthquake in Kamchatka 7.8 yesterday.
BBNona2 hour(s) ago I’m as confused about it as everyone! Didn’t make sense ..,
McToddy3 hour(s) ago SCM ... I was about to say, the closure area in Google Maps has shifted
SCM ALERT🚨3 hour(s) ago FROM CALTRANS: SBDCO: The closure on SR-38 between Forest Falls and Angelus Oaks has been lifted. Traffic can now pass through this section. A new hard closure is in place from Post Mile 20.50 at Middle Control to Lakewood Road near Big Bear. The closure is due to a slip-out and mudslides impacting the roadway. Crews are actively working in the area.
⚡WX ALERT⚡4 hour(s) ago I thought the same KN6, the threat is much lower today than yesterday. So I thought maybe it was a delayed reaction.
SCM ALERT🚨4 hour(s) ago Maybe BBNona can provide some additional clarity...
SCM ALERT🚨4 hour(s) ago Thanks WX! I am also confused about that evac warning. Came thru the automated system and it was followed up by a tweet from SBSO.
KN6GXO4 hour(s) ago Thanks for the weather update. I was a bit confused and almost wondered if the warning was delayed from yesterday because I currently don't even see anything on radar. Good to know that it is a potential development.
KN6GXO4 hour(s) ago I'm not sure if they were in the middle of moving it or opening it up, but there was no road block coming up to AO just now. It looked like it was only into Forest Falls. CalTrans told me just an hour ago it'd likely be tonight or tomorrow that this side will open, but my girlfriend made it home to AO just fine. The mess is cleaned up, but they are worried about stability, I believe. I'm referring to the slide closer to Redlands. In the meantime, I just got an evacuation warning notice.
⚡WX ALERT⚡4 hour(s) ago Just for some clarity, it is pre-emptive, for the 'potential' of thunderstorms to develop this afternoon, which may or may not happen. There are currently no storms in the area. Storms will fire up this afternoon, but as most know, these monsoonal thundershowers can be very spotty in nature. Isolated areas could see some heavy rain; other areas will stay dry. Always be prepared just in case!
SCM ALERT🚨4 hour(s) ago EVACUATION WARNING EAS ACTIVATION An evacuation warning is in effect for the communities of Forest Falls, Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks, and the Oak Glen area from Pendleton Road east to Glen Road (north and south) due to the potential for mud and debris flows from the approaching storm.
