Daytime heating has eroded the capping enough for a few thunderstorms to fire up. One active cell is over Big Bear City, with a probable lightning strike knocking out power to much of the Big Bear Valley. No ETA at this time for restoration.
Scattered showers and storms are possible through this evening as this disturbance lifts northwest across the region. Isolated afternoon showers & storms will remain possible through the weekend with slightly above-normal temperatures.
Any storms that develop will be capable of strong gusty winds, heavy downpours, lightning, and small hail. When thunder roars, head indoors!
