Doggie Daddy16 second(s) ago holeinbow, I have also seen good reviews on that Harbor Freight Predator 2000w generator. That seems to be a good choice. It is great to be prepared ahead of time. When the January fires were going on around Los Angeles, We were down the hill, and those Predator generators were flying off the shelves.
holeinbow15 minute(s) ago Well, i started up the harbor freight generator, after 2 slow priming pulls per the manual, it started right up on the third pull. Nice and quiet. My other one sounds like a loud lawnmower, the new one is 1/4 as loud, its really nice, box says 63 decibels. I had to remove the side panel to access the oil fill port, filling it up needs a funnel or a tube on the oil bottle. They included everything but a funnel.
Doggie Daddy1 hour(s) ago McToddy, When I purchased my WEN generator, I considered the same model with an electric start. It's $647, about $75 more than I paid ($575) for the pull-start model. As a bonus, it also includes a CO shutdown sensor technology. [Click Here]There's also a dual fuel model which is more like $750. [Click Here]
tctahoe2 hour(s) ago I don’t know about the rest of you but I get PTSD now when any winds pick up. 🫤
fireswimmer2 hour(s) ago Do bicyclists ever follow the laws of the road?
Trua3 hour(s) ago Is there a cycling event going on today? A group of about 100+ cyclists just tore through the Pine Knott/BB Blvd intersection acting like traffic laws didn't apply to them.
MrsBearendipity7 hour(s) ago Thank you for the birthday wishes! Always glad to have made it another year. Sure beats the alternative 😂.
SCM ALERT🚨15 hour(s) ago HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO: Sugarplum MrsBearendipity Have a great day from all of us at SCM!
mountainart21 hour(s) ago It seems that public roads and utilities folk who are tasked with pole work, signage, etc, need to attend a course in using 7 year old common sense.
When utility line guys came and did oine work on our street, the geniuses decided to put a major pole wire stay support line down from pole top to a giant deadeye anchor in the ground. Only problem is, they drilled the deadeye right into the dead center of our driveway and hooked up the stay wire. It literally got installed into the ground behond our cars, permanently blocking our cars in so we couldnt get out. What idiot does this?
holeinbow22 hour(s) ago Tctahoe, yes it is the quiet one, how quiet I don't know as I haven't started it yet. Couple interesting points are you must use fuel stabilizer or warranty is void. You also need to purchase 10-30 oil and put it in before starting, or else... I'll probably get to starting it up tomorrow...
Airport Razz23 hour(s) ago It only took a 1/3 of the project and a few million dollars to get the stop sign at Division and 38 moved into the right place. And guess what. Everyone knows what to do now. No traffic circle needed. Those millions would have been much better served fixing the roads across the valley.
SCM ALERT🚨24 hour(s) ago @CALFIREBDU [New Incident] Vegetation Fire - Apple Valley, Kiowa and Roundup Way rpt 2:46 pm. 1/2 acres slow rate of spread, one garage involved. FROS stopped. Garage fire knocked down. #Roundupfire #ChollaIC @AVFPD [Click Here]
McToddy1 day(s) ago @Doggie Daddy -- yeah, looks like what I got!
One other feature I like with the Wen: The meter (Volts output, Effort (e.g.. 50%), and Hours running)
Thx for the link (and scrubbing the tracking info from the URL) for the cover.
Couple of other comments for others: As TCTahoe just mentioned ("quiet one?"). If you are in the market for a generator, don't get a Contractor grade generator (noisy!) and pay a bit more for an RV grade (quieter) generator.
Also, don't store gas in the generator for prolong time (gas will go sour for a lack of better word).
Like a car Oil needs to changed out periodically.
Wen has options for flex fuel (Gas and Propane).
My generator has a pull-cord for starting. I want to see if there's options for a push button (for my elderly parents who can't use a pull start)
I just wanted to mention so new buyers don't get caught with surprises.
tctahoe1 day(s) ago HIB is that the quiet one?
holeinbow1 day(s) ago Just purchased a 2000 watt gen at harbor freight in highland, twas in stock, 449 bucks with coupon. Add in a years extended warranty and a gas can, out the door for about 650 bucks. Lots of great reviews on it...
